2008 was our first season here at our new farm. In addition to doing all the necessary things to start a farm, we also did a complete re-model on the farm house! From April through the end of the growing season, Deanna and I have probably never felt so exhausted. And yet, it was incredibly fulfilling at the same time. We grew a variety of vegetables and herbs on about 1/3 of an acre. This was enough growing area to provide food for 25 markets! We did the Issaquah Market on Saturdays and the Sammamish Market on Wednesdays. This year, we are going to start our own C.S.A. ( Community Supported Agriculture ). Joining a CSA is what got us hooked on farming and it's a great opportunity to support local agriculture. If you are unfamiliar with a CSA, here's how it works. We plant, cultivate, harvest and pack the produce, and all you have to do is support our endeavor by committing to the enjoyment of fresh produce June through October. How easy is that?
